Northern Virginia Science Center Announces CACI as Title Partner

event

July 2021 -- The Northern Virginia Science Center Foundation is pleased to announce that CACI International Inc (NYSE: CACI) has joined the Launch the Future Campaign as a title partner and gallery sponsor for the future Northern Virginia Science Center. This interactive regional science center will serve families, students, and learners of all ages, providing a place of discovery, innovation and fun that invites guests to look at the world through the lens of science. Constructed on donated property at Kincora in Dulles, Va., the Science Center will incorporate central themes into educational experiences in each gallery including innovation, technology, sustainability, STEM career connections and integration of the arts.

With this legacy gift, CACI is sponsoring the “Human” exhibition gallery. Leveraging modern scientific understanding and innovative technologies, “Human” will challenge guests to contemplate big questions about who we are, how we work, and how we connect with each other and the world. Revealing our similarities while celebrating our diversity, the gallery will encourage guests to explore what they know (or think they know) about their bodies, their minds, their identities, and their communities – about what it means to be human.

Experiences will incorporate authentic artifacts and collaborative interactions as well as digital displays with expert systems tointerpret human behavior and actions, showcasing how technology can help us explore the human experience. “Human” will encourage guests to see the unexpected ways that science is connected to everything we do and everything we are.

“The Science Center is proud to have CACI as a partner in building this world-class science center,” said Nene Spivy, Executive Director of the Foundation. “CACI has been a leader in innovation and technology in our region and nation for six decades and recognizes the critical human investments required to fuel industry and inspire future technology leaders.”

CACI President and Chief Executive Officer John Mengucci, said, “Through this partnership, we are joining forces with the Northern Virginia Science Center Foundation to inspire and empower future innovators and entrepreneurs in technology. CACI has been a proud sponsor of the Science Center for many years as part of CACI’s robust philanthropic efforts. Upon completion, this new center will continue our commitment to ensuring STEM accessibility for all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels.”

The new regional science center is designed to serve over 300,000 guests annually. It will operate as a division of the Science Museum of Virginia, benefitting from shared resources and expertise from the Museum’s four decades of delivering inspiring informal STEM learning experiences at its locations in Richmond and Danville, Va.

Partners receive permanent, prominent recognition at the Science Center. A variety of lead gift and naming opportunities remain, including Cloud/Data Partner, two extraordinary galleries, unique interactive experiences, and learning spaces both indoor and outdoors.
